Fundraising

Fundraising is a very important part of our work. Without it, we’d be unable to sustain the great Scouting that takes place in High Green. Funds raised at events and activities go towards the day to day running of the group, and also our fundraising project to renew our headquarters.

There are a number of ways in which we raise funds, find out more below.

Events

We hold a number of events throughout the year, for either the group, the general public or both. See each of our events below.

Race Nights

We have run a couple of race nights through 2012 and 2013, both of which we’re highly successful and good fundraisers. The evening are good social nights, and we aim to run at least 1 per year.

Bonfire & Fireworks Night

Started in 2011, the Bonfire & Fireworks event is a hugely popular event, featuring Live Music on our outdoor stage, and the usual Fireworks & Bonfire displays.

Hall Hire

Our headquarters provide a great space that can be hired, suitable for parties to social events or just about anything.

Equipment Hire

Planning an event or activity? 105th Scout group have a large equipment store, from marquees to cabling and lighting. Our equipment suitable for events, activities, and is available to hire at competitive rates.

Headquarters Redevelopment Project

We have obtained planning permission to re-build our Scout headquarters. However before this can happen, we need approximately £380,000.

Therefore, the huge hurdle to this project is raising the large amount of funds required for the build.

Our Current HQ

Built on the same site of our current HQ and taking up approximately the same area, the new brick built building will have 2 levels. The downstairs consisting of the main hall with doors opening out on to the veranda, equipment stores, kitchen, toilets and an entrance hall. Upstairs will hold meeting room and Leaders room.
